Autumn Playlist

Goodbye, sunny, warm days and welcome cozy PJs and countless mugs of hot chocolate! I am one of those people with mixed feelings about Autumn, I love it and hate it equally. My main problem is when I have to go to work and outside it`s pouring. But most of the time I like it because it gives me an excuse to stay at home and do Netflix marathons or catch up with my reading list. There`s something quite peaceful about Autumn, the melancholia turns into an inner peace and life seems to stay still for a brief moment.

As soon as the first September rain comes, I change my playlist and add songs that fit my mood better. Some are quite sad songs and while there`s nothing wrong, they calm me or make me nostalgic. I`ll leave you only with some of my Autumn favourites, cause I have around 5000 songs on my Pc and Ain`t nobody got time for that.
One of my all-time favourite songs, November Rain by Guns N`Roses. I love this song so much, the lyrics are so meaningful and Axl`s sounds so good! It also reminds me of the careless nights in high-school and even though all my friends now live in different countries, the good memories linger on.
Again, so many emotions in this song. It`s called Youth by Daughter and whenever I listen to it, it reminds me of things I lost, but at the same time makes me appreciate what I have even more.

Cinder and Smoke by Iron&Wine. What`s great about a song with meaningful lyrics is that it can relate to you on so many things. It`s quite a sad song, but for me is a reminder that you need to let people into your life, otherwise your personal problems might get too much. Also, I love love love the acoustic beginning.
Carnival of Rust by Poets of the Fall. I don`t know how many of you are familiar with this band, but it`s amazing, all of their songs are so well written and performed. Also, the videos are a masterpiece, you need to watch them!
What time do you call this? - cover by Hobbie Stuart. Ok, time for something that`s not as old as my grandma. I am a big fan of Gabby (Velvet Ghost) and in a lot of her videos, you can hear Hobbie`s music. So I checked his channel and he`s pretty good, but this song just blew me away. I actually like it better than the original, he put so much emotion into it.

Ed Sheeran has such a beautiful voice and Autumn Leaves is perfect for this time of the year. I especially like to listen to this song if I`m away for a couple of days from my husband.
And my last song is Blindsided by Bon Iver. First of all, this is not a hipster band, so if you get past your prejudices you`ll find some amazing songs. If you are Grey`s Anatomy fan you might recognize this song, it always reminds me of THAT amazing  Izzie and Denny scene.

So here are a few of my favourite Autumn songs. Like I said, while most of them are quite sad, I normally prefer songs with meaningful lyrics over happy songs. But that`s just me, so let me know in the comments what`s on your playlist at the moment.

  1. nice picks. I love autumn leaves too but I much prefer upbeat songs, I need that little something to put me in a better mood when its freaking cold outside and I have to wake up at 6. haha
