November Favourites

I know I was supposed to post more and to be completely honest most of the posts are almost finish, but living in London during A/W season means horrible lighting. So while the posts are waiting for your feedback, it was a total mess finding a day to take pictures. I decided to bite the bullet and take them anyway, so sorry for the crappy photos. Hopefully, my witty remarks will be enough for now until I can impress you with better photographic skills.

Moving on to November, obviously, it wasn`t my cup of tea. Rain, rain, rain (20 minutes later) and more rain can sum up my feelings. Luckily it was not that cold and I actually found a winter jacket that does not look like I`m a 5-year-old wearing her mum`s clothes, so kudos for that. The third part of The Hunger Games was released so that got me excited for a while. And I did try some new beauty products, some good ones and bad ones. The ones that made the favourites list are the following:

  • Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
Definitely the star product of the month. While it does not offer a lot of coverage, it`s one of the best products I used for my under eye area. It makes it look so bright and rested, just a dream to use. One of my readers told me it`s similar to a concealer from Nars and I couldn`t be happier, as it is at a fraction of the price. You can read my full review here.

  • The Body Shop Vanilla Brulee Body Polish
This is part of their Christmas collection and if you like sweet scents, this is right up your alley. Besides smelling divine, it also offers good exfoliation without being too harsh on the skin. After I used it my skin is very smooth and nourished, a really good product for winter times, when you are looking for a more gentle scrub.
  • Sleek Contour Kit
I am still a newbie when it comes to contouring and I still can`t achieve perfectly chiselled cheeks, but, at least, it does make me look more alive. This kit comes with a highlighter and a bronzer, both being really pigmented and easy to apply. You can read my review here.
  • KIKO Luscious Cream Lipstick
I tried a lot of products from KIKO last month and they were all amazing, from blushes to eye shadows and lipsticks. But I decided to narrow it down to my most used product and the winner was this nude lipstick. Since I bought it I wear it daily, I just love the colour! I have to say, as the name suggest this has a very creamy formula, it just glides on your lips and does not cling to any dry patches. Not the most long lasting lipstick, though, but still decent, at 4-5 hours.

  • Batiste Dry Shampoo
Will you be extremely shocked if I tell you I started using dry shampoo only recently? In the summer I used to wash my hair almost daily, but it`s not good for your hair and also the weather is colder which means going out with semi-wet hair is an NO NO. So now I carry this little thing at work in my purse and whenever I feel the need to refresh my hair I spritz it. It smells really nice, surprisingly it does not leave any white residue and after I apply it, my hair is not oily at all. WINNER!

BONUS:

  • Zoella`s First Novel: Girl Online
I don`t usually read this type of books (starting next month I`ll do a regular reading list post, so you`ll get my genre better), but the cover was cute and I thought it would be a nice, easy read on the underground. Surprisingly, I liked it, it put me in a really good mood. Now, Zoe knows her audience very well and obviously it`s aimed at teenagers, but I think you can enjoy it even if you are in your late 20`s. The book touches some good themes, such as teenage insecurities or loss of friendship and will certainly make you rethink some of the decisions you made when you were younger. I admit, lots of time I kept friendships that were toxic (in terms that I wasn`t comfortable being myself around the other person), just because we had some great memories when we were kids so that chapter in the book will open your eyes. Again, a really good read, the quality is far better than some other popular titles you`ll find in this genre.

So this were my favourites last month. What did you love in November?
