October Favourites

I wanted to start this post very poetically and praise the red leafs, blah blab bla, but who am I kidding? I hate Autumn! Whenever I see a post in which people describe how this it`s their favourite season, I just think they are on crack and move on. No offence, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I find it difficult to find the joys of this period. I hate the weather getting colder, the fact that is raining non-stop, the fact that because I`m small over-sized jumpers make me look like a 5-year-old trying her mum`s clothes...you get the idea. Hot chocolate is not enough to make me like autumn, but at least, I have the chance to try new products. (not that I don`t do this on a regular basis, but whatever`) In October, I had more money to spend so I bought more than usual and therefore I decided to divide this post into 2 sections, makeup favourites and skincare/body favourites.

Makeup Favourites

This is such a random selection, but all of them were life saviours, so I had to include them. First of all, I`ll start with the lip balm from Pixi. This is incredibly moisturising and leaves you with a nice tint of red, that you can build it up depending on your preferences. I actually wore this alone, without any lipstick or gloss and it just gave me a really nice shimmery finish, perfect for everyday makeup. Another product I used a lot is from Model Co. and it`s their More Brows, brows tint. This looks a lot like Gimme Brow from Benefit, starting from the packaging to the shape of the wand. However, I was a bit disappointed seeing that it`s only 3 pounds cheaper than the one from Benefit, so I still need to find the drugstore alternative. The next product is this gorgeous nail polish from Ciate and this colour just brightens my day. As I mentioned above, I hate this season, so I would rather still wear summer colours than switch to the seasonal ones. By the way, kudos to Glossybox and Birchbox, all these products were included in their previous boxes, so they really catered to my needs. And last, but not least it`s the eyeliner from Soap&Glory. If like me, you are a beginner with makeup, this product will save your life. It`s very easy to use, does not smudge or slide off and it gives you the perfect black cat flick. Skincare/ Bath Favourites

As you can see, last month I decided to invest a bit into my skincare routine. Although I love experimenting with new ones, I decided I need to have a go-to staple mask and this one from Ren is fantastic. It helped me a lot with my pores and overall my skin looks clearer, smoother and less patchy. You can find my full review here, in case you want to find more about this product. Speaking of a better-looking skin, a big shout goes to Vichy`s Night Detox cream, one of the best creams I ever tried. Combined with the mask, it did wonders to my skin, I finally don`t shine like a disco ball. (review here)

Recently I finished my Soap and Glory scrubs, so I had to find new ones. I know I will get a lot of bath products for Christmas, so I did not want to invest too much. So I popped into Superdrug and I bought the  I love Coconut &Cream scrub. It`s cheap, it has a sweet scent and does a good job of removing dead skin cells, so I can`t complain. I team in up with a lot of Lush shower gels, but my most used is Hot Toddy. This one just smells like Christmas in a bottle. Also, I love that red glittery formula, I find it very festive. And while we`re on the Lush subject, I must mention Veganese, one of the best hair conditioners I ever tried. At first, I was sceptic about the scent, but it started to grow on me. It`s perfect for my fine hair, it doesn`t weight it down and helps with the oiliness. You can find my full review here.

So there you have it, my October favourites. What did you guys love this month?

  1. I so badly wish there was a Lush near me. But maybe it's a blessing in disguise, as I know I would buy ALL THE THINGS if I walked into that store. That being said, I need the Hot Toddy. Smells just like Christmas, you say? Yes. I need it. Cute blog, dear!
