Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Blush

Last week I finally had time to arrange my makeup drawers, a thing that let me to saying When the fuck did I get this? way too many times. There are lots of products that I don`t use because I forget about them, but nothing seems to beat the blush in this category. Which is weird, because I have quite a collection, going from powders to sticks or creams. But the thing is, sometimes I have very red skin, so the idea of adding more colour seems so wrong in my mind. Then again, when I actually do apply blush (correctly being the key word here) the result is really nice.

I got this product about a month or two ago and almost had a panic attack when I saw the colour. I guess that`s what you get when you order online. Back then Makeup Revolution did not have a stand in Superdrug, so you had to guess the shades based on pictures and we all know how misleading that can be. Being a newbie in the beauty department I had no idea what a baked blush is, so imagine my surprise when I saw this pink and gold mix that just screamed: Look at my clown face! I decided I hated it and threw it a drawer. I don`t know how, but after arranging my makeup stash I decided to give this another try. Usually, in the awful A/W season I switch from cream blushers to powder one, my skin gets drier and I find them easier to apply. Anyway, I tried it again and now I absolutely love it!

You see moderation is essential when you use this blush. The colour is extremely pigmented so you need just the tiniest amount of it for a natural flush. When you apply it, it feels very soft and it`s very easy to blend. While the shimmery part used to scare me before, I find that a plus now. Because of that, this also works well as a highlighter, besides adding colour on my cheeks, it also gives them a sheer glow. I think this makes the blush ideal for winter when you don`t want your face to look so dull. The colour I got is Loved Me The Best (cute name) and I think this pink looks really nice on paler girls, that want to look more alive.

These blushers cost 2.50 pounds and you can choose from 6 colours. At this price, you can really argue and the amazing thing is that even though they are cheap, they have an amazing quality. I think this is what makes Makeup Revolution such a loved brand: affordable makeup that can easily compete with some high-end products in terms of pigmentation and lasting power.
